Description

These Air Fryer Baked Apples are a delightful and easy dessert option that combines the natural sweetness of apples with a crunchy oat topping. Using the air fryer results in tender, cinnamon-infused apples with a crispy oat crust, making for a perfect treat.

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 Apples (Pink Lady recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

Topping Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Old Fashioned / Rolled Oats
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup (or honey or rice malt syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon Wholemeal / Whole Wheat Flour (or almond meal or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Cut apples in half through the stem and remove the core, stem, and seeds. Brush a teaspoon of melted butter over the cut sides of the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  2. Make the Topping: Combine oats, melted butter, maple syrup, flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Spoon the mixture evenly on top of the apple halves.
  3. Cook in the Air Fryer: Carefully place the apple halves in the air fryer basket and cook at 180C / 350F for 15 minutes or until softened.
  4. Serve: Enjoy the baked apples warm, topped with ice cream or cream if desired.
