Description

This Cherry Pie Dirty Soda is a refreshing and indulgent soda-based drink that combines the rich flavor of fresh cherries with the fizz of Dr. Pepper and a creamy vanilla cold foam. It’s a perfect homemade alternative to the popular soda concoction, offering a sweet, fruity, and creamy twist that’s easy to make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Cherries

  • 2/3 cup whole cherries, seeds removed, fresh or frozen/thawed

Soda

  • 2 - 7.5 ounce cans Dr. Pepper

Creamer & Foam

  • 1/2 cup vanilla creamer (Chobani brand or similar)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cherries: Mince the cherries finely until they can easily pass through a straw. As you chop, you’ll notice some cherry juice released – save these few spoonfuls of juice for later use.
  2. Make the cherry vanilla cold foam: Using a frother or a smoothie blender, combine the vanilla creamer with the reserved cherry juice. Froth until the mixture becomes thick and creamy but still pourable, creating a luxurious cold foam to top your soda.
  3. Assemble the drink: Place 4 tablespoons of the minced cherries at the bottom of each glass. Add ice cubes to fill about two-thirds of each glass, creating a chilled base.
  4. Add soda and foam: Pour the Dr. Pepper into each glass carefully, leaving about 2 inches of space at the top. Gently spoon the cherry vanilla cold foam over the top. Stir lightly to blend flavors without causing the soda to overflow because of carbonation.

Notes

  • For a lower-calorie option, substitute vanilla creamer with cherry vanilla creamer like Ollipop and use Diet Dr. Pepper instead of regular.
  • Be gentle when stirring to avoid excessive foaming and overflow.
  • Fresh cherries provide the best flavor, but frozen/thawed cherries work well.
