Scale
Bread and Spread
- 16 slices crustless bread (thinly sliced, white or wholegrain)
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (or to taste)
- Mustard (optional, to taste)
Fillings
- 8 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, edam, or your choice)
- 8 slices deli ham (use 2 slices per sandwich if very thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Lay out 8 slices of crustless bread on a clean surface and evenly spread mayonnaise on each slice.
- Add Cheese and Ham: Place one slice of cheese on top of each mayonnaise-coated bread slice, then add one slice of deli ham over the cheese.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Optionally spread a thin layer of mustard on the remaining 8 slices of bread, then place them mustard-side down over the ham to complete each sandwich.
- Cut Out Trees: Using a tree-shaped cookie cutter, press firmly into each sandwich to cut out two Christmas tree shapes per sandwich, creating a total of 16 mini sandwich trees.
Notes
- You can use bread with crusts and remove them yourself if preferred. Thinly sliced bread works best for easy cutting.
- Cheese can be any variety you like; cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, and edam are all excellent choices.
- If your deli ham slices are very thin, consider using two slices per sandwich for better filling.
- Mustard is optional; use it according to your taste preferences.
