For the Burgers
- 1 lb Ground Chicken
- 7-8 Slices Cooked, crumbled bacon
- 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 2 tbsp Ranch Seasoning
- 1/2 cup Plain Breadcrumbs
- 1 Large Egg
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
For Serving
- 4 Brioche Buns, Toasted
- 4 Slices Cheddar Cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Ranch dressing
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, crumbled bacon, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning, plain breadcrumbs, large egg, garlic powder, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything thoroughly but gently.
- Form Patties: Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking and shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 3/4-inch thick. This helps them cook evenly.
- Preheat Skillet: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of oil if your skillet is not nonstick or if needed to prevent sticking.
- Cook Patties: Place the patties in the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid to retain moisture and cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 6-7 minutes on the other side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) ensuring they are fully cooked through.
- Melt Cheese: Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Add a small amount of water (about 1-2 tablespoons) to the pan and immediately cover with the lid to create steam. Let cheese melt for 1-2 minutes.
- Prepare Buns and Assemble: Toast the brioche buns until golden brown. Place the cheese-topped patties on the bottom buns, then add lettuce, tomato slices, and a drizzle of ranch dressing. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
- Wetting your hands before forming patties helps prevent the mixture from sticking.
- Using a lid while cooking the patties helps them stay moist and cook evenly.
- Adding water and covering the pan helps melt the cheese quickly and evenly without burning.
- Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken patties reaches 165°F for safe consumption.
- You can substitute the ranch seasoning with your favorite spice blend if desired.
