Icing and Decorations
- Leaf Green Icing Color, 1 oz.
- Lemon Yellow Icing Color, 1 oz.
- Black Icing Color, 1 oz.
- Red Sparkle Gel, 3.5 oz.
- Orange Icing Color, 1 oz.
- Creamy White Decorator Icing, 4 lb. Tub
- Candy Eyeballs, 0.88 oz.
Instructions
- Prepare Cupcakes: Preheat your oven to 350°F or the temperature specified on your chosen cupcake recipe. Line your muffin pan with a mix of orange and green cupcake liners. Prepare the batter according to your recipe instructions, then pour batter into the lined muffin cups and bake until done. Once baked, cool the cupcakes completely at room temperature before decorating.
- Tint Icing: In separate bowls, tint the white decorator icing using the food coloring as follows: combine Leaf Green and Lemon Yellow to create the green color shown. Divide the icing into portions: 1/2 cup black, 2 cups green, 2 cups orange, and reserve 1 cup of the original white icing.
- Decorate White Mummy Cupcakes: Use a spatula to spread black icing covering the top quarter of the cupcake. Using a piping bag fitted with tip 47, pipe stripes of white icing across the black icing to simulate mummy wrappings. Add drops of red sparkle gel to mimic drops of blood, and then position candy eyeballs on top to complete the mummy look.
- Decorate Orange Pumpkin Cupcakes: Use orange icing fitted with a piping tip 1M to pipe swirls atop the cupcake creating a pumpkin effect. With green icing and piping tip 352, pipe a small leaf and stem on top of the orange swirls. Finish by placing candy eyeballs to add character.
- Decorate Green Monster Cupcakes: With green tinted icing and a piping tip 2A, pipe swirls onto the cupcake surface to create a textured monster effect. Position candy eyeballs on top to bring your green monsters to life.
Notes
- Make sure cupcakes are completely cooled before decorating to prevent melting or sliding of icings.
- Tip numbers (47, 1M, 352, 2A) refer to standard decorating tips; adjust based on the ones you have available.
- You can make your own cupcake batter from scratch or use your favorite boxed mix.
- Use gel-based food coloring for vibrant colors without thinning your icing.
- Store decorated cupcakes in a cool, dry place to maintain frosting integrity.
