Indulge in the rich and comforting flavors of this Easy Homemade Cinnamon Caramel Sauce. Perfect for drizzling over desserts or adding a touch of sweetness to your favorite treats.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Caramel Sauce:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced into tablespoons, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Note: Making caramel requires your full attention. Ensure all ingredients are ready before starting and avoid distractions. Leaving caramel unattended may cause burning.
  2. Place sugar in a heavy-bottomed medium saucepan with higher sides. Heat over medium-low, stirring often. Sugar will melt into an amber liquid, taking about 7-12 minutes.
  3. Once amber, add butter and melt. Gradually add heavy cream, stirring. Remove from heat and add cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  4. Pour caramel into a jar, let cool, and refrigerate. Reheat as needed in 30-second intervals until desired consistency.
