Description

This festive Christmas Sangria Cocktail is a refreshing and vibrant holiday drink featuring green apples, fresh cranberries, Moscato, and sparkling apple cider. Garnished with rosemary and sugared cranberries, it’s perfect for holiday gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 2 Green Apples, chopped
  • 2 Cups Fresh Cranberries

Other Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Bunch Rosemary (for garnish)
  • 1 Bottle Moscato
  • 1 Bottle Sparkling Apple Cider

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Chop both green apples into small pieces. Reserve a few pieces for garnish and add the remaining to the bottom of a large drink pitcher.
  2. Sugar the Cranberries: Rinse the cranberries in a colander, then roll a handful in granulated sugar and set these aside for garnish.
  3. Add Cranberries: Add the remaining unsugared cranberries to the pitcher with the apples.
  4. Muddle the Fruit: Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently crush some of the fruit at the bottom of the pitcher. This releases the juices and flavors.
  5. Add Liquids: Pour in the bottle of Moscato followed by the bottle of sparkling apple cider.
  6. Garnish with Rosemary: Add a bunch of fresh rosemary sprigs to the top of the pitcher for aroma and decorative appeal.
  7. Prepare Glasses: Rim champagne glasses with sugar. Fill each glass with the Christmas sangria mixture.
  8. Final Garnish: Add a few sugared cranberries and reserved apple pieces to the top of each cocktail. Garnish each glass with a single sprig of rosemary.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this festive, refreshing holiday cocktail.

Notes

  • You can prepare the sangria a few hours in advance to allow the flavors to meld, but add sparkling apple cider just before serving to maintain fizz.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute Moscato with grape juice or sparkling white grape juice.
  • Adjust sweetness by modifying the amount of sugar or using a sweeter sparkling cider.
  • Use fresh rosemary sprigs for the best aroma and presentation.
  • Serve chilled for an optimal refreshing experience.
