For the Ravioli Lasagna:
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 4 large cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (28-ounce) jars good-quality marinara sauce
- 2 (25-ounce) packages frozen ravioli
- 1 (15-ounce) package ricotta cheese
- 3 cups (12 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
For Toppings:
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Prep oven and baking dish: Heat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
- Brown the sausage: Cook Italian sausage in a sauté pan until browned. Set aside.
- Sauté the aromatics: Sauté onion and garlic, then add marinara sauce and cooked sausage. Mix well and turn off heat.
- Layer the lasagna: Start with meat sauce, then layer ravioli, ricotta, mozzarella, and repeat layers.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes, uncover and bake for 10 more minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes until golden.
- Serve: Top with Parmesan and basil before serving warm.
