Description

Ravioli Lasagna is a delicious twist on classic lasagna, using frozen ravioli for a shortcut without sacrificing flavor. Layers of ravioli, Italian sausage, cheeses, and marinara sauce bake together for a comforting and satisfying meal.

For the Ravioli Lasagna:

  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 4 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (28-ounce) jars good-quality marinara sauce
  • 2 (25-ounce) packages frozen ravioli
  • 1 (15-ounce) package ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups (12 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese

For Toppings:

  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Prep oven and baking dish: Heat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Brown the sausage: Cook Italian sausage in a sauté pan until browned. Set aside.
  3. Sauté the aromatics: Sauté onion and garlic, then add marinara sauce and cooked sausage. Mix well and turn off heat.
  4. Layer the lasagna: Start with meat sauce, then layer ravioli, ricotta, mozzarella, and repeat layers.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes, uncover and bake for 10 more minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  6. Serve: Top with Parmesan and basil before serving warm.
