- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine strawberry cake mix, melted butter, and egg, mixing until the batter is smooth.
- Add cream cheese: Stir in the softened cream cheese until the mixture is thick and fully blended.
- Chill the dough: Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to prevent spreading during baking and to thicken the dough.
- Preheat oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Scoop dough balls: Using a tablespoon measure, scoop dough into balls for uniform cookies.
- Coat dough (optional): Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar or pink granulated sugar if desired, or place them plain onto the lined baking sheets.
- Bake cookies: Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft for a tender texture.
- Add chocolate kisses: After removing the cookies from the oven, let them rest for 1 to 2 minutes, then gently press a chocolate Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
