Sandwich Ingredients
- 2 strips uncooked bacon
- 2 large eggs
- 2 slices sandwich bread
- 1 slice sharp Cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
Instructions
- Cook the Bacon: Heat a large sauté pan over medium-low heat. Add the bacon strips and cook until crispy to your liking. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Carefully pour out all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease from the pan to use for cooking the eggs.
- Cook the Eggs: Crack the eggs directly into the pan with the reserved bacon grease. Increase heat to medium. Season the eggs with salt and pepper. Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are fully set. Turn off the heat, uncover, then place the cooked bacon strips and a slice of sharp Cheddar cheese on top of the eggs. Cover again and allow the cheese to melt and the yolks to reach your preferred doneness.
- Prepare the Bread: Toast the sandwich bread slices until golden brown. Spread 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam evenly on one slice of the toasted bread.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place the cooked eggs with bacon and melted cheese over the jam-spread slice. Top with the second slice of toasted bread. Serve immediately for the best taste.
Notes
- Adjust bacon crispiness to your preference.
- You can swap strawberry jam for other fruit preserves or honey if desired.
- Season the eggs lightly to maintain balance with the sweet jam.
- Use fresh eggs for the best flavor and texture.
- Serve with fresh fruit or a side of greens for a complete meal.
